Superseded Units and Packaging Rules

SEP 2023

SupersededUnits_Alternate.png

As this comes up quite alot, we thought we would provide information from ASQA about teaching superseded units that are part of a qualification. The following is an excerpt from ASQA:

When a training product (qualification or skill set) contains a superseded unit of competency (core or elective), can we deliver the superseded unit if the transition period for the unit has passed?

When delivering a qualification or skill set, providers are required to satisfy the packaging rules published on the National Register, training.gov.au. If the packaging rules contain a unit of competency which becomes superseded and continues to be named past the usual transition timeframe, the unit must still be delivered as part of that training product (but may not be delivered as a standalone unit).
